GIMME SHELTER - Mick Jagger / Keith Richards
This tune is from the ROLLING STONES' album LET IT BLEED which was released
in 1969. The guitar that I call LEAD RHYTHM is tuned in OPEN E. Once you
get accustomed to this tuning and to the use Keith Richards makes of it,it
is easy to tab its part. Keith Richards reports that when recording the song
in the studio , the guitar he used (an Australian copy of a Gibson) fell
apart at the end of the last take : the neck fell off !
I tabbed the LEAD RHYTHM in OPEN E , tuned like this from high to low :
E - B - G# - E - B - E
I tabbed the solo guitar that is tuned in the standard way. I tabbed also the bass.
The tune is divided into :
the INTRO
The first VERSE
The first CHORUS
The second VERSE
The second CHORUS
The BRIDGE
The SOLO part
Only the solo guitar justifies that we make out the verses and choruses.
I did not tab the last verse and choruses since the solo guitar repeats itself
then and it is of no interest.
